A seven-year-old boy, Mark Collier, has made a remarkable recovery after surviving a devastating road accident that doctors believed he had less than a one percent chance of overcoming.

The crash happened on February 20 near Gholson Road and Hicks Drive in Waco, Texas, USA, when the vehicle Mark was travelling in with his mother was struck by an alleged drunk driver.

According to his mother, Adrianna, Mark was left unconscious and was clinically dead for 10 minutes before first responders successfully revived him. He later suffered another cardiac arrest for three minutes while being transported to the hospital.

Doctors diagnosed Mark with atlanto-occipital dislocation, a catastrophic injury commonly referred to as “internal decapitation,” where the skull separates from the spine.

Recalling the horrifying experience, Adrianna said:

“On the night of the accident, it was just a normal Friday night for us.

“We were preparing to spend the weekend with my boyfriend, who is his stepdad.

“We were coming back from picking up takeout when we were hit by an alleged drunk driver.

“I’ll never forget how helpless I was when I saw my baby unconscious and I couldn’t move to get to him.

“He was dead for 10 minutes at the crash site before they were able to resuscitate him and an additional three minutes in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

“The last time I saw him before going to the hospital myself was when he was in the middle of the road with a first responder providing CPR to keep him alive.

“I will forever be grateful that she helped save his life that night.”

Adrianna said doctors initially warned the family that Mark had less than a 1% chance of surviving and that, even if he lived, he would likely remain in a vegetative state.

She added:

“We were told by the doctors that the type of injuries he sustained meant he had a less than 1% chance of surviving, let alone recovering.

“But he survived and when he did, they told us he would essentially remain in a vegetative state and that there was little chance of recovery.

“But then he woke up 12 days later and he is alert and is able to communicate with us.

“He is slowly beating the odds little by little and has not given up on getting better.

“He is a fighter.”

The mother explained that she is now caring for Mark full-time while also looking after her five-month-old baby.

She said:

“Me and his father, along with his support system, are trying to give him the best fighting chance he has to get better.

“It has been a difficult transition coming home and we don’t have nursing care coverage at the moment.

“The type of care my son needs is 24/7 around-the-clock care and I am the main caretaker for my son.

“This leaves me unable to work because I must remain at his side.”

A GoFundMe campaign has since been launched to help the family cover medical supplies, food, nappies, cleaning products, bedding, and other daily necessities as they continue Mark’s recovery.

Meanwhile, Anissa Cantrell Bell, 45, has been charged in connection with the crash. She faces one first-degree felony count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two second-degree felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

She was later released from the McLennan County Jail on personal recognisance bonds totaling $100,000.

According to arrest documents, Bell allegedly had a blood-alcohol level of 0.22% approximately 50 minutes after the crash. Police also allege she was speeding, driving recklessly, and attempting to overtake two vehicles in a no-passing zone before the collision.

Popular Nollywood actress Cynthia Anijekwu has made an emotional appeal to Nigerians for financial assistance after revealing that she is battling cancer for the second time.

The actress shared her heartbreaking story in a video posted by her colleague, Destiny Etiko, where she broke down in tears while speaking about her ongoing health challenges.

According to Cynthia, she was first diagnosed with cancer in 2023 and underwent surgery as well as chemotherapy in a bid to overcome the illness. However, despite the treatment, the cancer later returned.

She revealed that doctors recently informed her that the disease has now spread to her bones, making her treatment more complicated and expensive.

Speaking in the emotional video, she said:

“I have been in the hospital in and out. The recent shocking news the doctor gave me is that it has reached my bone, and the treatment now is higher. I have spent 600 and something in a month and it is not an easy thing.

“The doctor said after this, I would go for radiation and I would do surgery too, so it is not an easy thing. My family can’t do anymore, so I am pleading with you (Nigerians). Even my hands have swollen.”

A woman has captured attention on social media after sharing photos comparing her appearance 11 years ago with how she looks today, alongside the story of her long recovery journey.

In a post shared on LinkedIn, the woman, identified as Dolapo Mayowa, revealed that her life changed dramatically 11 years ago after undergoing what was initially meant to be a single major surgery.

According to her, the first operation eventually led to five surgical procedures due to repeated complications.

Dolapo explained that each surgery came with new challenges, making her recovery far more difficult than she had expected.

She revealed that the wounds from the operations took more than two years to heal, leaving her unable to move around without difficulty.

As a result of the complications, she said she struggled to walk on her own for a long period while undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.

Narrating her experience, she said: “On the 24th of this month, it’s 11 years since my major surgery journey began, a journey that stretched over two years of my life. What started as a single major surgery eventually became about five surgeries in total, each one addressing complications that followed the first.
For over two years, I lived through a process I can only describe as intense and stretching. There was a wound on my leg that took two years to heal. I moved between hospital visits, treatments, cast changes, and long seasons of waiting. At some point, I couldn’t walk properly on my own. I depended on support for even the most basic things. I missed school for about a year, and life as I knew it slowed down completely.

There were moments of confusion, hope, and exhaustion all at once.

My family stood with me through it all. My mum and aunt carried sacrifices, seeking every possible help they could find. There were prayers, medical interventions, and even diabolic spiritual efforts from different places of belief. We explored everything we knew how to do at the time, because we were desperate for healing and answers.

But healing did not come quickly.
Even after the surgeries, recovery took time. Long, stretching time. And it tested everything in me; my strength, my hope, and my sense of identity as a young girl trying to still grow and live her life in the middle of pain.

But here l am today. Healed and Standing.
And I do not take it lightly.

As I reflect today, I am reminded that my life is a testimony of grace. I may not always have the words to fully explain everything that happened, but I know one thing clearly: God carried me through it all.

There is so much more I will still share someday. The full story about the surgeries, healing, decisions, expenses and a lot more.
Maybe as a video, maybe even in a book. Because the journey of healing was not just physical, it shaped my confidence, my faith, even how I saw myself and what I believed I deserved in life.

But today is simply about gratitude. Gratitude to Jesus.

Gratitude for healing. Gratitude for strength I did not have on my own.

A woman has taken to social media to share an emotional account of her life, revealing that she is a single mother of eight children.

In a tearful video, she opened up about her struggles and said her situation was never something she planned for in life.

According to her, she explained that it was never her intention to have children with multiple partners, stating that she ended up giving birth for seven different men.

A little girl narrowly escaped tragedy after falling into the gap between a train and the platform at a railway station in São Paulo, Brazil.

The incident reportedly occurred at around 2 p.m. on June 13 at Villa Lobos–Jaguaré station as passengers were boarding a train.

According to eyewitness Vagner Mila, the young girl, believed to be between three and four years old, slipped into the narrow space between the train and the platform as the doors were closing.

Video from the scene showed a woman kneeling near the platform edge while the child was trapped below.

Witnesses said panic broke out immediately after the girl fell. While her mother and other bystanders became distressed, her father reportedly remained calm and instructed the child to curl up as the train began pulling away from the station.

Fortunately, once the train moved forward, the little girl was safely pulled out from the gap without suffering serious injuries.

Speaking about the incident, eyewitness Vagner Mila claimed that people at the station initially struggled to find assistance.

According to him, after locating a railway employee and informing them of what had happened, staff reportedly said they had not seen the child fall.

He further stated that although surveillance cameras were installed at the station, the incident allegedly occurred in an area not fully covered by the cameras.

A tragic incident has been reported in North Lauku, Indonesia, where a woman identified as Elisabet Yamalau lost her life after being attacked by a massive python.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when Elisabet went out to tend to her cattle near her garden.

It was reported that the 25-foot (7.8-metre) python allegedly grabbed her legs before wrapping its body tightly around her.

Witness accounts indicated that Elisabet cried out for help during the attack, but the powerful snake had already restrained her.

Concerned after his wife failed to return home that evening, her husband, Benyamin Lanto, 52, reportedly went out in search of her.

When he arrived at the farm, he made the horrifying discovery of his wife’s motionless body partially inside the python’s mouth, just a short distance from their home.

In a desperate attempt to save her, Benyamin reportedly attacked the snake and cut it open. However, by the time he reached her, Elisabet had already died.

Nearby villagers later joined him to help retrieve her body from the scene.

Confirming the incident, Police Chief Adnan Wahyu Kashogi said:

“The husband found his wife dead after being attacked by a python measuring about 7.8 meters long, with part of the victim’s body still inside the snake’s mouth.

“However, after being pulled out, the victim was confirmed dead at the scene.

“The husband asked nearby residents for help in evacuating the victim’s body, which was later taken home for mourning.”
