Lady Beats Mother-in-law To Coma In Ekiti state (Nigeria)

A 30-year-elderly person, Adenike Olowookere, on Tuesday in an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates' Court for supposedly beating her relative into trance like state. 

Olowookere, whose address was not given, is accused of endeavored murder. 

The investigator, Insp. Bankole Olasunkanmi, told the Court that, the respondent submitted the offense on Sept. 9 at Ado-Ekiti. 

Olasunkanmi said that the respondent assaulted 63-year-old relative, Mrs Comfort Olowookere. 

He said that the unfortunate casualty was still in trance like state. 

Olasunkanmi said the offense repudiated the arrangements of Section 320 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2012. 

He asked the Court to remand the litigant in jail pending lawful counsel from the workplace of Director of Public Prosecutions. 

The request of the litigant was not taken. 

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Abdulhamid Lawal, remanded the respondent and suspended the case until Oct. 17 for notice.
