Brits face tougher coronavirus crackdown within HOURS as ‘selfish’ public flout rules, Hancock warns

Speaking after Boris Johnson warned there would be more to return, Mr Hancock said: "People have to stay two metres apart.

"If that may not followed, we are visiting should take more draconian action.

"As Health Secretary, I'm working every hour there's protect people."

He said a choice would be made "very soon".

Actions which may well be on the cards could include dramatic measures to force people to remain in their homes.

Already parks and open spaces are being shut as people cram themselves in to do and find fresh air, but the govt. may take action to shut them across the board.

It came as:

An 18-year-old was thought to own become the youngest victim of the virus in Britain because the number of deaths within the UK rose to 281 yesterday
There are growing fears that Britain is on the same trajectory to Italy - scene of the world's worst outbreak - where the price passed 5,000 over the weekend
The PM warned the NHS may well be "overwhelmed" within the same way because the Italian healthcare system has been, if the spread of the virus within the UK isn't curbed
Trains were taken under government control this morning - with Brits ready to get a refund on unused season tickets
All McDonalds branches are closed from tonight - together with Nando's, Costa Coffee, John Lewis, Primark and Timpson
Ministers will bring forward emergency laws to the Commons tonight giving the PM sweeping powers to fine people that don't isolate
In France and Italy already people should have paperwork to depart their house and face on the spot fines if they are doing not obey the principles.

Some countries have one nominated one who can venture out and find shopping and other supplies.

Germany has banned quite two people from meeting at a time.

Ministers also are considering wider shutdowns of outlets and other public spaces, it had been claimed this morning.

Last week No10 played down the prospect of a London travel ban - insisting that travel both in and out of the capital wouldn't be shut.

But the PM is under huge pressure to require all measures possible to do and stop Britain becoming the new Italy.

Ministers and MPs are worried that Boris isn't going far enough to prevent this becoming a full blown crisis and thousands of individuals dying needlessly.

Labour's Jonathan Ashworth said they might support a tougher crackdown too, saying: "If voluntary social distancing measures don't seem to be adhered to, the govt. must bring forward their plans for stronger action."

And expected new Labour boss Sir Keir Starmer said more action as required too like in other counties, saying: "I these extraordinary times, the govt. must now embarked on further compliance measures, like those introduced in other countries."

One source told Buzzfeed that the mood among Cabinet ministers and senior advisers would be '"full scale mutiny if he doesn't upgrade the response as soon as possible.

This morning pictures from tube trains showed rammed carriages as Brits continued visiting work.

Ministers have said nobody should be commuting unless they're a key worker - or they absolutely should.

This morning schools are only receptive the youngsters of essential workers like NHS and police staff - and everybody else is being told to stay their kids reception to prevent the spread of the killer bug.

Over the weekend thousands flocked to holiday homes, caravan sites and other rural hotspots to do and escape the virus, despite ministers insisting non-essential travel should be stopped last week.

Mr Hancock blasted them this morning, saying: "It's very selfish.

"If people go within two metres of others who they do not stand, they're helping to spread the virus - that costs lives."

He got into a row with furious Piers Morgan this morning, who insisted that the govt. must lock down the whole country to prevent the spread.

The Good Morning Britain host raged at the "morons on the streets" who aren't paying attention to the PM.

"In Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, all of those are in almost total lock down and that we are seeing these catastrophic pictures, people going out partying like its a legal holiday.
"People don't seem to be listening.

"They want clear direction, they're too stupid to create that call themselves.

"We are risking lives!

"Every day we don't seem to be locking down, we are putting doctors at greater risk."

In explosive clashes on ITV today where Mr Hancock accused him of specializing in "tittle tattle", Piers told him: "How dare you!"

The presenter said: 'Your strategy has not been the identical all along…it changed dramatically. Herd immunity was the strategy then dramatically, it changed. So please don't insult my intelligence by telling me we followed the identical strategy – we've not.'

Mr Hancock insisted: "Herd immunity has never been the strategy, as I've made clear repeatedly."

Deputy chief medical man Dr Jenny Harries said yesterday people that were congregating were "dangerous" and making outside environments "unavailable" to others.

Yesterday it had been announced the nongovernmental organization would close all of its parks and gardens, with many other large parks round the country following suit - but many have remained open.

On Friday night, the PM ordered pubs and restaurants to shut as a part of efforts to encourage people to remain reception to fight the spread of Covid-19.

However many have remained open for takeaway service, resulting in queues and groups of individuals sitting at cafes with outdoor tables.

A government source said it had been an issue of how long it might be before more lockdown measures come.

They said: "It is inevitable, you simply should study other countries. the earlier you are doing it the higher."

Ministers will bring forward emergency laws to the Commons tonight giving the PM sweeping powers to fine people that don't isolate.

It is believed that the govt. is facing such opposition over the length of your time such measures are in situ that they may reduce it from two years right down to six months.
