Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO) has disclosed that Coronavirus are going to be around for a protracted time as most countries are still within the early stages of addressing the deadly disease.

During a virtual news conference on Wednesday night April 22, Mr. Tedros said: 'Most countries are still within the early stages of their epidemics and a few that were affected early within the pandemic are getting down to see a resurgence of cases.

'Make no mistake: we've got a protracted thanks to go. This virus are going to be with us for a protracted time.

He noted there has been progress in western Europe but said there have been 'worrying upward trends' in early epidemics partially of Africa and central and South America.

The WHO's top emergencies expert Dr. Mike Ryan warned against opening up global travel too quickly, saying it might require 'careful risk management'.
