An unnamed doctor has tested positive for Coronavirus in Bayelsa state.
Governor Duoye Diri made the announcement during a gathering with members of Bayelsa state COVID-19 Task Force.
The doctor who works at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa was admitted at a personal hospital before testing positive for the virus.
The health official's travel history also showed that he entered the state after a visit to neighbouring Delta State. The private hospital he was admitted in has been pack up for decontamination.
Governor Duoye Diri said the new case brings the amount of active cases within the state to 2 . Five other positive COVID-19 patients had been successfully treated and discharged.
