Teacher permanently banned from school after sharing photos of his P£n!s during school hours

A teacher has been banned indefinitely from the profession after a misconduct panel found he engaged in s£xually motivated behaviour while on duty at a school.

The individual, Benjamin Lillicrap, was found guilty following an investigation into his conduct while working at Abbey School.

According to findings presented before a Teaching Regulation Agency panel, Lillicrap took multiple expl!c-t photographs of himself on school premises during working hours. The incidents occurred between July 2023—when he began his role—and November 2023, when he was suspended.

The images were discovered during a police investigation into an unrelated matter, where authorities uncovered “images of him taking what are commonly called ‘d**k pics’”.

Now aged 41, Lillicrap admitted to taking the photographs, stating they were intended for a private recipient and insisting that no pupils were present at the time.

He told investigators:
“It was never anything that was meant to come to light.”

The panel heard that “upwards of five or six” images were taken within the school premises, including in his office.

He was subsequently dismissed for gross misconduct in February 2024.

Although no criminal charges were filed, the panel concluded that his actions amounted to unacceptable professional conduct and brought the teaching profession into disrepute.

In its findings, the panel stated the behaviour was “of a sexual nature” and driven by sexual motivation, adding there was “no plausible innocent explanation”.

“Mr Lillicrap, when taking images of his genitalia on school premises…was wrongly focused on his own sexual gratification rather than on his teaching responsibilities,” the panel said.

“Mr Lillicrap’s behaviour showed no regard to safeguarding of students, or the potential risk of students, colleagues and/or members of the public finding him taking images of his genitalia when on school premises.

“This was not an appropriate way for a teacher to behave, and he failed to observe the boundaries appropriate to his role as a teacher.”

The panel further concluded that his actions “fell significantly short of the standards expected of the profession” and would “significantly damage the public’s perception of teachers”.

Safeguarding concerns were also highlighted, with investigators warning that his conduct risked exposing students, colleagues, or members of the public to inappropriate behaviour.

Additionally, evidence suggested that similar images had been taken at previous schools, raising concerns about a potential pattern of behaviour and the likelihood of repetition.

While Lillicrap was found to have shown some level of remorse, the panel determined that this did not outweigh the seriousness of the misconduct.

As a result, a prohibition order was issued on behalf of the Secretary of State, permanently barring him from teaching and preventing any future return to the classroom.
