Reality TV star Shauna Rae Lesick, who has the appearance of a child due to a rare medical condition, has revealed why she chooses to keep her boyfriend’s identity private.
Speaking on the Unplanned Podcast, Shauna explained that she wants to protect her partner’s privacy and career, as he has a stable job, and she does not want public attention to affect him.
Despite being 23 years old, Shauna stands at just 3 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 50 pounds, the average size of a third grader. Her stunted growth is a result of brain cancer treatment she underwent as an infant, which affected her pituitary gland.
Unfortunately, her condition has made dating challenging, as many people struggle to see her as an adult.
She also revealed that although she and her boyfriend are together, some of his coworkers recognized her from TV, which has added another layer of complexity to their relationship.
She said: “I’m more worried because he has a nice job. I don’t want anything going bad to the job.”
“They love me……….. They sent me a gift basket because I was really, really insecure.
“I was like to my partner….no, no don’t tell them you’re dating me because they’re going to be like ….no she’s a TV star and you can’t be affiliated with that.
“With everything I know my boyfriend isn’t, I just don’t want him to be labelled something and him not be my partner forever.
“At this point, unless I’m marrying him or spending the rest of my life with him – his face isn’t going to be shown.”
