Three Fulani Herdsmen Arrested In Ogun With Gun And Bloodstained Cutlass (pictures)

According to the reports, The Security Operatives in Ogun state have arrested three Fulani herdsmen for burning several houses and injuring some residents of Ayetoro area of Ogun State.

According to the police, a gun and “a bloodstained cutlass” was recovered from the herdsmen after they were arrested on Saturday.
The herdsmen are identified as Musa Yusuf, Usman Mohammed, and Aliyu Abubakar.
While reporting, SaharaReporters learnt that they Injured resident identified as Ismaila Alabi with deep matchet cut.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the operatives combed the Igboaje bush where the herders were arrested.

He said, “Three herdsmen were arrested by operatives of Ogun State command for the role they played in the attack on Bamajo village in the Ayetoro area of the state. In the early hours of the day, the men attacked the village where they set some houses ablaze and inflicted a deep matchet cut injury on one Ismaila Alabi.


“On receiving the report, the Area Commander mobilised his men, hunters, and youths to the scene where the entire area was thoroughly combed. The combing exercise was extended to Igboaje bush where one Musa Yusuf was apprehended with a gun and a bloodstained cutlass.


“His arrest led to the arrest of two others namely: Usman Mohammed and Aliyu Abubakar, who are strongly believed to be part of those who launched the violent attack.


"The injured victim was quickly rushed to a general hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.

“He also directed a massive manhunt for the rest of the arsonists with a view to bringing them to justice.”

Yewa communities have been troubled in recent weeks by Fulani herdsmen and reprisals also by residents leading to ethnic clashes in the area.

Governor Dapo Abiodun had last Tuesday met with some northern governors including Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje; Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle and Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sanni.

They were also in Ibadan, Oyo State last week to visit the area where violence raged between herdsmen and residents, leading to the destruction of lives and property.

In Oyo, Governor Bagudu, who lamented the sad incident between the two groups, however, promised that the northern governors would give necessary support to restore normalcy and redeem the lost property.

Nigerian Air Force releases names of the victims that dies in the military plane crash

It was reported that 7 persons died in the Military airplane crash that happened on sunday, Feb. 21, 2021. The Nigerian Air Force has released the names of the seven personnel that died in the military aircraft that crashed in Abuja.

According to a statement released by AVM Ibikunle Daramola, the Director of Public Relations and Information, the deceased personnel include;

a. Flight Lieutenant Haruna Gadzama (Captain).

b. Flight Lieutenant Henry Piyo (Co-Pilot).

c. Flying Officer Micheal Okpara (Airborne Tactical Observation System (ATOS) Specialist).

d. Warrant Officer Bassey Etim (ATOS Specialist).

e. Flight Sergeant Olasunkanmi Olawunmi (ATOS Specialist).

f. Sergeant Ugochukwu Oluka (ATOS Specialist).

g. Aircraftman Adewale Johnson (Onboard Technician).

Daramola said the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Oladayo Amao, has instituted an investigative panel to determine the remote and immediate causes of the accident.

Oh no! Fulani herdsman attacks 18-year-old boy and his father over missing cow in Bayelsa state

It was reported that a yet to be identified Fulani herder attacked an 18yr old boy Kohgi Nation and his father over a missing cow in Otuoke Community, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa state.

It was stated that the incident happened at about 5pm on February 19, at Osuan bush, when the father and his son were working on their palm farm.


While speaking further, it was reported that the herdsman attacked the boy with a machete, inflicting deep cuts on his fingers and head. His 58-year-old father, Goodhead Nation, managed to escape the attack with minor bruises on the legs.

It reportedly took four hours of surgery at the emergency wards of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) to save the life of the boy.

According to Goodhead Nation, the Fulani herder came through the back entrance of his farm and accused them of stealing his cow.

While Good head nation was speaking, he said;

"We denied the theft and told him to look at us whether we looked like some who can kill a cow. He attacked me with his stick. He later brought out his machete and chased my son. We later discovered my son by the riverside with a heavy machete cut to the head, waist and hand."

Reacting to the development, the spokesman of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC), Comrade Ebilade Ekerefe, who visited the victim at the hospital, expressed sadness over the incident, warning that he believes that the incident is an isolated one.

"Let me say, this is not the first time the herdsman incident happened. Considering the mood of the country, the Ijaw Youths should not carry out a reprisal attack. It is an isolated attack. We do not want to believe that the attack was planned," said Ekerefe.
"We want to call on security agencies to arrest the culprit. If the culprit is not arrested it will show that it was planned. The Hausa/Fulani Community in Bayelsa should show sympathy with the victim by ensuring the culprit is arrested. We don’t want to pre-empt anyone. They should come out to exonerate themselves.

"Ijaw youths should brace up and defend their clans against any form of enemy attacks. The Ijaw youths should welcome a peace-loving people and defend themselves against any form of threats.” he added.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident said the Commissioner of Police, Mike Okoli, has appealed to residents of the state to remain calm as the command is working assiduously to identify the suspected herder and apprehend him.

“On February 20, 2021 at about 08:00hours an unknown herder at Osuan bush, Otueke Community, Ogbia LGA, assaulted one Kohgi Samuel Nation ‘m’ 18 years and inflicted grievous wounds on his fingers and head, over an allegation of a missing cow," the statement says.
"The victim was immediately rescued by Police Operatives and is responding to treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa. The Commissioner of Police Bayelsa State Command, Mike Okoli, appeals to members of the public to remain calm as the command is working assiduously to identify the suspected herder."

Update: Nigerian Air Force confirms death of 7 persons in military plane crash in Abuja

It was reported that the Nigerian Air force has confrimed the death of seven persons after one of the Military aircraft crashed today in Abuja.

The military aircraft, Beechcraft KingAir B350i crashed at Bassa Airport Village on Sunday morning, February 21, after reporting engine failure.

According to the Air Vice-Marshal Ibikunle Daramola, NAF Director of public relation and information, said in a statement that the aircraft crashed while returning to the Abuja Airport after reporting engine failure en route Minna.

He also said all the 7 persons on board sadly died in the crash

The Air Vice-Marshal also confirmed that the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), AVM Oladayo Amao, has ordered an immediate investigation into the crash.

While speaking, He wrote: "This is to confirm that a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft crashed while returning to the Abuja Airport after reporting engine failure enroute Minna. First responders are at the scene. Sadly, all 7 personnel on board died in the crash."

Finally! Police arrests 9 robbers terrorizing Abuja Communities

It was reported that 9 suspect armed robbers who terrorizes the residents and road users along Jabi-Utako, Wuse and Kwali axis have been arrested by the FCT Police Command.

According to the statement by ASP Yusuf Mariam, the Police PRO for FCT Command said the suspects were arrested during different coordinated intelligence operation between 10th-18th February,2021.

The suspects who were arrested are identified as: Adah Johnson 20years, Ebere Ekueme 19years, Freedom Emmanuel 20years, Gambo Alanana 19years, Gideon Adaga 35years, Friday Adanu 20years, Danjuma Gambo 19years, Abubakar Aliyu 20years and Jude Godwin 25years all male.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects are: three (3) locally fabricated pistols, one (1) unexpended cartridge, four (4) cutlasses, one (1) cutter, three (3) television sets, (4) mobile phones and cash sum of one hundred and thirty thousand naira.

All the suspects will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation.

 “We enjoin residents to remain calm, law-abiding and reiterate our unflinching commitment to the protection of lives and property within the FCT”.

From the reports gathered, It was seen that 3 children were rescued for a room filled with fetish items and he two women who held them hostage have been arrested in Anambra state.

According to the Anambra state police, two women who is identified as Rejoice Raymond, 39, and Chidi Felicia Nwafor, 80, were arrested by police operatives attached to 3-3 Police Station Nkwelle.

On Friday, Feb 19, police went to their address at NO.13 Akunwanta Mbamalu Street, Federal Housing Estates 3-3 Nkwelle Ezunaka, Anambra state, where they found three children locked up in a room as they were blooded.

The children - 2 boys and a girl - were badly bruised and were looking malnourished. They had broken bones and were left lying in their blood.

In the room, Buckets where the children were made to poop as they were not allowed out of the room.

The children, whose parents are not known, were too battered to speak. They were barely conscious and appeared to be in shock.

According to the Anambra state police, the women had "subjected them into physical and emotional torture without feeding and inflicted several wounds on their body leaving them unconscious."

While speaking furtherm the police stated that; "Scene was visited by the DPO 3-3 CSP Abdu Bawa where a gory sights of badly battered victims, one with a broken arm were found in the pool of their blood and whose parents were neither seen nor known.

"Meanwhile, the children were rescued and rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

"Preliminary Investigation further revealed some fetish substances, blood stained canes,concoctions and other incriminating items were all recovered inside the rooms and registered as exhibits."

On Friday night, Feb.19, The Players and Officials of the Nigerian Professional Football League side, Adamawa United were attacked and robbed by Unknown gunmen while they were on their way travelling to Lagos.

The heartbreaking incident happened along the Benin-Ore express way at around 11.30pm in which the players lost all their phones, feeding monies and other important properties to the gunmen.

Adamawa United were heading to Lagos for their Nigerian Professional Football League week 11 game against MFM at the Soccer Temple in Agege, Lagos.

According to a Twitter user who shared this online, He stated that the players & officials of ADAMAWA UNITED FC were robbed at gun point around Benin- Ore expressway around midnight yesterday on theirr way for the Week 11 #NPFL21 fixture against MFM Fc in Lagos. 
Their phones, feeding monies & other valuables carted away.

 


The driver who was driving the coaster bus carrying the players was kidnapped and nothing has been heard about him from the gunmen.

After gaining promotion to the topflight before the start of the ongoing League season in Nigeria, Adamawa have not been finding it rosy in the NPFL.

So far after playing 10 games, they remain the only club who have not gotten a win and they are rooted at the bottom of the table. In their last home game against FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Adamawa United were forced to a 1-1 draw in a match they should have won.

Meanwhile, Kwara United are still topping the NPFL table and the Ilorin based club will be facing Enugu Rangers on Sunday in their NPFL week 11 game.

The Coaster Bus that was carrying the players of the Bauchi based club suffered electric problems along Kibo Road and it burnt to ashes with no life lost in the heartbreaking incident.

According to the report gathered, players of Wikki Tourists were fast enough to rush out of the bus when the fire started from the engine, but all their bags were burnt.

Wikki Tourists will be facing Dakkada this weekend in their NPFL week 11 encounter which will be the first ever topflight match between these two teams. The Bauchi based side are currently occupying 10th position on the NPFL table, while their opponents for this weekend's game occupy ninth.

According to the Minister of Information, Lai Mohmmed has stated that the Federal Government will not pay any ransom to secure the release of the abducted students and also members of staff of the Government college, Kagara, Nigeria state.

Lai Mohammed said this after an unconfirmed report alleged that the federal government paid N800m to secure the release of the abducted students and staff of the school.

According to Lai, he said;

We employ kinetic and non-kinetic (measures), you don’t throwaway invitation to engage but the overall strategy you keep to your chest.”

Continuing, he said, “Bandits all over the world work with psychology of people. Deliberately, they target women and children because this is what will attract a lot of global outcry. That is exactly what bandits do all over the world.

“The government has put in place, all along, various strategies to contain banditry, to fight insurgency, to fight kidnapping. Some of these measures are kinetic, some are not kinetic. We didn’t get here overnight and that is why it is difficult to get out one day.

“Criminality in any form will not be tolerated by government. At the same time, government has a duty to look at the underlining causes of some of these criminalities in other to address them.

“I was in Minna with my colleagues, the Ministers of Interior and Police Affairs, the IG, and the National Security Adviser on Wednesday to get a firsthand information on the abduction of these Kagara schoolboys. I can tell you that as at today that the government is on top of the matter.”
